Metamorphosis

This is the most intimate work in the series, a true act of introspection. In a way, it is a self-portrait, as I drew inspiration from three blurred photographs I took of myself.

These three faces in motion represent the past, the present and the future (from left to right), connected to one another and immersed in the cosmos — a universe that both fascinates and intimidates me, and into which I choose to dissolve.

On the left, representing the past, complex and intertwined forms evoke our memories and the actions we have already taken. Towards the centre, the movement continues: the knots of the past weave themselves into the present. On the right, the forms become simpler and more horizontal, turning towards the light of the future: what has not yet come to be, what remains to be created.

This work speaks of the perpetual movement of our transformation through time, beneath the gaze of the cosmos. I worked on this painting over several months, and bringing it to completion was a real challenge. That year was a time of profound change for me, as I stepped into the unknown and placed painting at the centre of my life. There were countless doubts and moments of questioning, but also the emergence of a strength that allowed me not to let go of my dream and to continue believing in it. Every small step I took brought me closer to where I am today.

It is an ode to our freedom to act, to shape our destiny, and to make our dreams a reality.
